Discovering Glen Etive
The Glen Etive road was immortalised on film when James Bond and M stood beside the iconic Aston Martin DB5, with the majestic Buachaille Etive Mòr mountain in the background. This moment from "Skyfall" (2012) made Glen Etive one of the most photographed locations in the Highlands.
The Route
The turn-off for Glen Etive is located on the A82, a few miles south of Glencoe Village. Look for the signpost shortly after the Kingshouse Hotel if coming from the north, or after the Glencoe Mountain Resort if coming from the south.
What to Expect
- ✦Single track road with passing places — be prepared for oncoming traffic
- ✦The famous filming spot is about halfway down Glen Etive Road
- ✦Numerous opportunities for wildlife spotting, photography, and enjoying untouched Highland beauty
- ✦The drive is serene and offers a more secluded experience than the main A82
