On the 8th of June 2018, AOS SÍ Lodges opened its doors for the very first time. What had been a dream — to create a sanctuary in the Scottish Highlands where guests could reconnect with nature, history, and the magic of Glencoe — became reality.
The name AOS SÍ (pronounced "ees shee") comes from Scottish and Irish mythology. The Aos Sí are the fairy folk, supernatural beings who dwell in the ancient mounds and between the worlds. Our lodges sit at just such a threshold — where woodland meets loch, where the everyday gives way to the extraordinary.
The original vision was simple: handcrafted octagonal timber lodges, each with a Victorian-style bathtub and private patio, set within 3.5 acres of native woodland on the shores of Loch Leven. Accommodation that felt like a retreat, not a hotel. A place where guests woke to mountain views and fell asleep to the sound of the river.
Since that first day, thousands of guests from around the world have discovered the magic of AOS SÍ. We've grown — adding spa lodges with private Jacuzzi baths, restoring the Victorian rooms in St John's Old Rectory, and welcoming Stone Cottage into the family. But the spirit remains the same: luxury rooted in nature, hospitality from the heart.
“Every great story has a beginning. Ours started with a view, a dream, and a name whispered by the forest.”
